A Great Day
"As I write this, British yachtswoman Ellen MacArthur, 28, is crossing a
finish line
on the English Channel. When this happens, she will become the fastest human to sail
non-stop around the world. 71 days, 8 hours. 75 foot trimaran. She is a day and a
half ahead of the existing record and is just miles from the finish, steaming along
at 18 knots. The existing record of 72 days, 23 hours had been set last year by
Frenchman Francis Joyon, eclipsing the earlier record by 20 days!" |
